This series consists of letterbooks containing copies of letters sent to the U.S. Land Office by Tuscaloosa Registers John McKee, 1821-1824, and Monroe Donahoo, 1856-1865. Some letters discuss routine procedural matters, while others discuss disputed land claims. The Monroe Donohoo letterbook also contains some of Donohoo's personal notes and notes on 1857 contested entries. These records document the work of district land office Registers.
